Hi Everyone, I hope that you are all safe. I wanted to send a quick note to let you know that despite Governor Baker’s stay at home advisory, rubbish/recycling collection has been deemed “an essential service.” As such, we are planning on working to the best of our ability throughout the Covid-19 crisis.

Covid-19 Customer Protocol

As we learn how to navigate through the COVID-19 crisis, here are some things that you can do to help our employees, and other workers within the sanitation cycle to stay safe, while we continue to provide essential services:

  • Please use soap and water or an alcohol-based cleaning product to wash-off the handles and lids of all trash and recycling bins that are physically picked-up by our employees;
  • Personal waste items – tissue paper, napkins, sanitary products, and paper towels, rags, and other products used to clean/disinfect may be mixed with your household trash.  However please place these items inside smaller bags and tie/secure them before placing them inside a standard plastic trash bag, containing your typical household waste.
  • We would prefer that all household rubbish/trash be placed in plastic bags.
  • Please ensure that ALL bins and bags are closed and sealed/tied properly.
  • Please rinse off and wipe down bottles, cans, and other recyclables that you put into bins.
  • Recyclables must be placed loose inside trash containers (no plastic bag liners).
  • Please practice social distancing by placing your bins out the night before your waste or recycling is slated to be picked up; or have everything out, ready and accessible no later than 8:00AM on the day of your scheduled pick-up.  During this crisis, we encourage you not to approach our employees.  If absolutely necessary, please maintain a safe social distance of 6 feet away.  This is for everyone’s safety.
  • We always appreciate your generosity.  However during this crisis, please do not offer our employees any snacks, food, or beverages.  Instead, please consider offering a new pair of work gloves and/or bottles of hand sanitizer by leaving them on top of the trash lid as a gift (include a note so they know they’re safe to use).  Of course, please do NOT feel obligated to leave anything.  Your continued patronage is the most important thing to us!

Our employees are at the heart of all that we do here at Winchester Rubbish Removal & Recycling. We are grateful for them every day, and our hope is to help them stay safe during this difficult time, while providing you with great service.   Thank you for helping keeping our employees safe.
